The SFD Countdown
Raise awareness about SFD by displaying our countdown
Adding the SFD countdown timer to your website is easy! We currently support 9 languages and all the world time zones. So imagine you want to use the Portuguese counter while being located somewhere in Latin America on UTC-4:30, and expect to have something like this:The code to use will look like this:
<a href="http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/"><img src="http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/countdown/banner1-UTC-4.30-pt.png" border="0" width="190" height="200" alt="Celebra o SFD 2011 no Sábado, 17 de Septembro!"></a>Now imagine you would like to use that same counter in English and on GMT+8:45. The new countdown timer will display like this:
and the updated code will be:
<a href="http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/"><img src="http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/countdown/banner1-UTC+8.45-en.png" border="0" width="190" height="200" alt="Celebrate SFD with us on September 17!"></a>We hope those two examples will make it sufficiently clear, if not do not hesitate to contact us and ask questions. You can find more information on our wiki page here: http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CountDown/.
