University of KwaZulu-Natal Computer Science Society
The Computer Science Society at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Westville Campus, is a student body whose aim to promote student involvement in extracurricular activities including community development. We also strive to provide social events that promote friendly competition and the sharing of knowledge. As such, Software Freedom Day is certainly an event that we would support.
To accommodate the academic calendar at the University, the event will take place on the Thursday, the 18th September 2008 in two parts at the Westville Campus, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa:
Information Table
- Time: 9:00am - 2.30pm
- Venue: The Quad
Software Exhibition
Time: Forum (6th) Period > 12.15pm - 1.00pm
- Venue: T5
We will be giving away free Ubuntu CDs and stickers, answering question/making recommendations on Open Source Software and demonstrating some of the features of Linux at the Information Table.
During the Software Exhibition we will be demonstrating the various Open Source Software solutions from common applications such as Word Processing to advanced topics such as system file recovery using a LiveCD.
