SFD 2009: 19.09.09 10am in Cologne in Odysseum
The SFD2009 with Linux Install Party is over. There is something going on in Cologne in relation to Free Software. After 5 days of sprinting for Grok at GfU the Software freedom day in Odysseum organized by Linux Users was a success.
Ca. 25 people participated and most of them visited the talks. After welcome by Dr. Frey, chairmen of Odysseum we had some very interesting talks and presentations. List of themes: Free Software - Past and Future, the DLR and its activities in Open Source, GSOC, Linux-School-Project in Erkelenz SLZ, Flight Gear, Linux-Self-Help, Open Source in IT-consulting praxis, Virtual Box and many more. There was lot of space for discussion in the lobby. People from user groups in Cologne for Python and Ruby on Rails participated and showed some posters and demonstrations. The only sad experience: very little interest in linux installation help. May be in time of simple ubuntu CD-plug-and-install the time for install-parties is over. The room was sponsored by SK-Stiftung CSC - Cologne Science Center, the lunch by Marx-Consulting. Thanks to all supporters and helpers. All in all a successful and happy day in Odysseum for the free software groups in Cologne.

SFD 2008
There was a plan for a big event: Flyerentwurf: sfd2008-flyer.pdf but unfortunately we had not the drive to finish this goal. But we celebrate the sfd2008 in smaller round. A small group of people meet in Hallmackrenreuther to celebrate the SFD2008. Together we have seen the "Happy Birthday GNU Video" and than there was a raffle for the sfd2008 t-shirt.
